According to J.D. Power and Associates, customer satisfaction with repairs and maintenance is improving significantly at car dealerships across the industry, but Lexus dealers continue to be unmatched in the service department. In its 2013 Customer Service Index (CSI) Study, the consumer-research firm ranked Lexus highest among luxury auto brands for the fifth consecutive year, giving it a score of 862 out of 1,000 to surpass Cadillac, Jaguar and Acura at the top of the list.
For this year’s CSI Study, J.D. Power surveyed more than 91,000 owners and lessees of 2008 to 2012 model-year vehicles, measuring their satisfaction with both independent and dealership service centers. Lexus performed especially well in service initiation, facilities and quality. Overall, drivers showed higher satisfaction with maintenance and repair work performed at dealership facilities than with the same services performed at independent shops.
“As a Lexus dealership, we take great pride in ensuring that our service team provides every customer with a pain-free experience that reflects the quality of their Lexus vehicle,” said William Finsilver, general manager of Lexus of Massapequa on Long Island. “Other luxury brands may have similar state-of-the-art facilities, but they can’t match our human element, whether it’s our trained Lexus Vehicle Technology Specialists that help customers get better connected with their car or our prompt, award-winning technicians.”
Quick and thorough service is particularly important for parents that need to transport their children around town, and the 2013 Lexus RX was recently recognized by U.S. News & World Report for its family friendliness. Taking home the publication’s 2013 Best Cars for Families award in the Luxury 2-Row Midsize SUVs category, the Lexus RX 350 was honored for its combination of child-ready features, quality and spaciousness.
With a power rear liftgate that grants easy access to the cargo area, seating for five and split-folding rear seats, the Lexus RX is a versatile crossover for families on the go. An available Rear-Seat Entertainment System features dual screens that let the kids watch separate shows or movies at the same time, while the optional Lexus Enform system keeps parents connected to information like the current weather, navigation and restaurant reviews. Outside, Lexus’ signature spindle grille is accompanied by sleek design lines to complete the package.
“The RX is perfect for modern families because it has all the features they need while running to school or soccer practice, but it also has a more aggressive look that won’t get lost in the parking lot amid all the other SUVs out there,” added Finsilver. “And with a 3.5-liter engine that produces 270 horsepower, it’s also a lot of fun to drive, even if you’re just headed out to pick up dinner.”
