When 23 year old Dan Zima got engaged, he wanted to buy a home to start his married life in. In addition to the expenses of planning a wedding, now Dan was trying to stretch his savings to include having a down payment on a home.
When Kim Murphy, a loan officer with 1st Advantage Mortgage, told Dan about the Welcome Home Illinois Program he was excited. This First Time Home Buyer program includes down payment assistance, below-market interest rates, and a variety of loan options to choose from including FHA, Conventional, VA, and USDA. To be eligible for the program, buyers must be first time homebuyers.
With only $1300 out of pocket, Dan was able to buy the perfect starter home in Hoffman Estates. Keeping costs of his mortgage low gave him the money he will need for his upcoming Fall 2015 wedding. The program helped this young soon to be married man make the dream of home ownership a reality.
As we grow older, lifestyle changes can mean moving. Such was the case for 67 year old Harriet Hugo in Schaumburg. Now that Harriet is watching her grandson during the day, she needed more room. The First Time Home Buyer program helped Harriet to get a mortgage for a 2 bedroom condo in Schaumburg. In Harriet’s case, her monthly home loan payments are saving her about $300 per month. That’s more money to help with food, expenses, and spoiling grandkids!
Kim says, “When I say I am your mortgage professional for life I mean it. I stay through the whole process, hold your hand, answer your questions even years later after the loan has closed.”
Kim hosts free workshops educating others on First Time Homebuyers Programs and about Purchasing and Selling a Home. Future workshops will focus on helping people in tough situations like post-divorce, bankruptcy and shortsale/foreclosures to quality for a mortgage.
