Dallas, Texas – As the holiday season approaches, many have adopted a spirit of giving and are taking the initiative to help local families in the DFW area who may be unable to afford traditional meals for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Helping Eradicate Hunger One Charitable Effort at a Time
In spite of considerable wealth in the United States, there is also considerable poverty. Millions in America struggle to have a sufficient amount of food to eat daily. In a 2013 nationwide study released by the nonprofit organization Feeding America, Dallas was listed as number six among the top counties with a significant number of children living in food insecure households, with a rate of 25.9 percent. More than 160,000 children were listed as living in households that lacked sufficient food resources in the city.
