When A Car Crash Results in the Deaths of Multiple Members of the Same Family
According to Dallas based car wreck lawyer Amy Witherite of the Eberstein Witherite law firm, car accidents that result in the deaths of multiple people of the same family unfortunately occur with more frequency than many expect.
Says the personal injury lawyer “statistics show that more than 30,000 fatal car crashes occur in the United States every year. This includes a significant number of multiple fatalities involving one or more people who are related.” Witherite says her firm has worked on several cases throughout the years that involve families facing an array of challenges in dealing with multiple losses at once. One of the most recent cases involved a truck crash that killed a mother and two others. The crash impacted multiple generations of the same family, and her firm represented 8 of the 11 people involved.
The Texas based attorney further states of the crash “this accident was one that will always stand out to me as one of the most devastating our law firm has ever taken on.”
Surviving family members of individuals who have experienced multiple losses due to a car crash can find support for overcoming both personal and financial challenges in multiple ways. These include counseling, support groups, and even contacting a personal injury attorney for help with obtaining legal compensation for any damages that accompany their losses.
The recent car crash in Dallas remains under investigation. According to the WFAA report, beer bottles were found near the truck driven by the suspect; however, it was not clear at the time whether alcohol had played a role.
