This spring, DJkit’s lineup of PA active speakers will include three new subwoofers from Pioneer DJ, the XPRS12, XPRS15, and the XPRS215. These new speakers won’t be out in the market just yet, as they’re scheduled to ship out starting in May 2016, though buyers would be able to enter their emails on the speakers’ product pages for prompt notifications on pre-order and ship dates.
Clean, Clear Sound Regardless of Musical Genre
“The XPRS Series comprises the XPRS15 and XPRS12 two-way full range speakers, and the XPRS215S dual 15-inch subwoofer. All three feature 15 mm birch plywood enclosures for a dynamic sound that works across all musical genres. The XPRS15/12 have a 15/12-inch ferrite LF driver, a 1.75-inch titanium diaphragm compression driver and Pioneer Pro Audio’s ‘AFAST technology’ to deliver a clear, clean sound with a deep bass range.” – Pioneer DJ
A look at those basic features will tell you that these speakers do justify their sticker prices. Regardless of your preferred musical genre, or genres, you could enjoy a rich and dynamic sound with deep bass; improving low-end sound quality, in particular, is a key selling point. Pioneer also notes that you can make use of the speakers’ four EQ modes with built-in DSP support.
Buyers will also get Powersoft Class D amps, which produce 2400 W peak output or 1200 W continuous output, giving you something similar to those large, booming speakers you see and hear at the clubs. The amps come with Power Factor Correction technology for optimal power utilization, as well as protection features that help ensure the driver, amp, and power supply all last it out for the long haul.
All Three Speakers Are Light and Easy to Carry Around
“The road-ready XPRS Series is durable and easy to transport; we’ve placed the PA speakers’ handles to ensure the weight is distributed equally, while the sub comes with removable castors. The wedge-shaped XPRS15/12 can be placed on the floor and used as a foldback monitor for stage performances, or you can pole-mount it and choose between a 0-degree and 7-degree tilt to suit your set-up.” – Pioneer DJ
As shown on Pioneer’s press information, the speakers’ light weight is another major come-on to customers. Weight is distributed equally across the speakers, and all in all, these are speakers you won’t mind carrying around from gig to gig if you’re DJ-ing. Pioneer ensures this light weight through the use of sturdy birch plywood for the enclosures, as well as proper use of castors and handles. Even the dual 15-inch XPRS215 shouldn’t be much of a bother for the busy DJ on the road.
Pricing for the three speakers is at £999 for the XPRS12, £1,049 for the XPRS15, and £1,299 for the XPRS215.
