The Great Escape Lakeside, a 13 bedroom lakefront estate home just outside of Clermont, was awarded a Guinness Book World Record on March 3rd for the World’s Largest Word Search puzzle. The puzzle, which spans a huge 11’ wide wall in the lavish home, has 62,500 Letters and 7,126 Words—smashing the previous World Record of about 50,000 letters and 5500 words. The puzzle was completed in December but Guinness had to thoroughly investigate and ensure a series of stringent requirements were met before the World Record could be awarded.
Andrew Greenstein, who designed the estate with his wife, Belinda and their 2 children, said “We LOVE doing word searches as a family…and whenever we eat at restaurants, we always ask the waitstaff for extra children’s menus so that my wife & I can race against the kids competitively. It was our dream to celebrate our love of word puzzles by creating the largest of its kind in the world.” While Andrew doubts anyone could ever complete the family’s 7,126 word puzzle, he does have a digital answer key copy stored on his computer—creating such a key was another critical factor in Guinness’ evaluation process. Today, guests at the home can try their best to beat the word search using stepladders, dry erase markers, and a ton of intellectual patience.
The Great Escape Lakeside Estate certainly has more unique items going for it than just a Guinness Record breaking word search wall. Across its 10 private acres, there’s an enormous pool & lazy river, life-sized Operation Game, giant Lite Brite wall, arcades, movie theaters, human bowling court, human foosball field, and other over-the-top amenities. When the Greensteins aren’t stay there, it’s even available for short-term rentals to luxury-seeking clients from around the world along with their other 2 renowned properties The Sweet Escape (www.sweetescapehouse.com) and the HGTV Award Winning Ever After Estate (www.theeverafterestate.com)
